Beauty Therapy Apprenticeship

This qualification is for young people who want to obtain a qualification in Beauty Therapy. The programme leads to  City & Guilds of London Institute NVQ Level 2 Qualification.

Training is arranged at one of our training Centres on a day release basis one day per week with four days being spent in a local salon.

No entry qualifications are required but personal qualities such as communication, people skills, stamina, patience and enthusiasm are recommended.

The Level 2 Course Content

Core Units

G1    Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety

G6    Promote additional products or services to clients

G8    Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work

General Beauty Therapy Route (mandatory units)

BT4    Improve and maintain facial skin condition

BT5    Provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments

BT6    Remove hair using waxing techniques

BT7    Provide manicure treatment

BT8    Provide pedicure treatment

Plus one optional unit

Make-up Route (mandatory units)

BT4     Improve and maintain facial skin condition

BT11   Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and lashes

BT9    Provide make-up treatment

BT10  Plan and promote make-up activities

Plus one optional unit

G4    Fulfil salon reception duties

BT5    Provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments
